The Personal Development Plan - The Element Of Water

Ok, so let’s move onto the next element in your personal development plan, the element of water.

This element represents the logical, analytical aspect of things. this is also the realm of strategic planning in your personal development plan.

Find the path of least resistence, and move forward, with nothing to slow you down or stop you.

Find the path of least resistence, and move forward, with nothing to slow you down or stop you.

If you did your work properly, you discovered your life purpose and are ready to start putting together an action plan in your personal development plan that will allow you to start moving toward those things you value and creating that life you dream of living. Of living your life purpose on a daily, regular basis.

The element of water is one of fluid adaptability. It picks the path of least resistence, and creates amazing results based on that path.

This is also the path of strategic planning. Water knows that it’s ultimate goal is the ocean, and it finds the easiest path of least risistance in order to get there. This is important to understand when talking about your personal development plan. Your life purpose is your ocean, and your strategic planning is how you will get there.

The key here is to figure out how to get there as easily and quickly as possible. Think about the water element for a moment. It doesn’t force it’s way through. It doesn’t demand that rocks and dirt and plants move. It simply builds up until it is able to naturally, peacefully, and easily able to pass by those rocks, dirt, and trees.

This must be your daily, normal path in life as well. This doesn’t mean that it won’t take strength and patience at times. If you have to go back to school, raise your children, and work a 40 hour a week job in order to get there, then that’s what needs to be done. This you building up strength and mass until you are able to let go and keep flowing.

The positive aspects of a water personality are as follows:

Logical, scientific perspective

Adaptability

Fluid, constant motion

Angling and positioning for the best results

The ability to touch and grab, but unable to be touched or grabbed. Like a slippery fish, it can bite you, but you have a hard time keeping your hands on it.

Constant motion toward the end goal

Effective, efficient, natural movement toward the end goal without the use of force, strength, or power

The negative aspects of a water personality:

To analytical. Easily slips into paralysis analysis and gets no results

Gets to busy planning and doesn’t take enough action

Can forget to include emotion into daily life, the planning phase, and interactions and sticks to much to the intillect

Understand this element and you will begin to develop a very powerful skill. That skill will allow you to logically view things going on, put together a plan of action, and find the path of least resistence to get to where you want to go.

The Importance Of Purpose In Life - Finding Your Life Purpose As The Foundation Of Your Personal Development Plan

This post was supposed to be a post about the second element of a personal development plan, however, I felt it necessary to talk more about the earth element for a number of reasons.

The earth element is the foundation of creating a successful personal development plan. If you don’t lay the foundation of anything you do

your life purpose, purpose in life, personal development plan

Your Life Purpose Begins With A Solid Foundation

properly, you are building on unstable ground. Many people will want to rush this part of their personal development plan, however, I urge you to take your time and make sure you work on it properly.

The foundation of your personal development plan begins with finding your purpose in life. Finding your life purpose is essential to laying a proper foundation, and here is why:

- Your life purpose clearly defines what you value most in your life.

- Your Life Purpose also defines those things you don’t want and do want in your life laying out a clear and precise outline of what your life should look and feel like. Your purpose in life is to create overwhelming joy and happiness in all areas of your life, and in order to do that, you need to take the time to clearly define your life purpose and what your life would look like if you were completely happy and full of joy.

- A personal development plan is pointless if you don’t know where you are going. Your purpose in life is where you are going, and every day of your life should define your life purpose more and more and make it more and more of a reality in your daily experience.

- Your life purpose also helps you recognize areas of your life that need work including obstacles, barriers, and personal internal blocks and points of view that will limit your ability to create maximum results.

So why is your life purpose so important? Why must you take the time to find your purpose in life?

Because it is the road map. It is the vehicle, the air plane, the road you travel on and the air you fly in. Without your life purpose, you are just walking blindly in the dark.

Imagine for a moment that you decide that your going on vacation. Now, when you typically go on vacation, what is the first thing you do? If you understand goal setting and don’t shoot yourself in the foot before you begin. You decide where you want to go! I know, most people think “can I afford it.” The answer is almost always no, so smart goal setting means picking the goal, then worrying about how you will get there.

Once you decide where you are going, you start to gather the necessary resources in order to make it happen. Suitcases, tooth brushes, passport if you need it, airline tickets, hotels, places you will stop for food, a food and enterainment budget, and everything else.

Your personal development plan is no different. Decide where you want to go. This is the point of discovering your purpose in life. Finding your life purpose gives you the place that you want to go, and outlines the resources necessary to get there.

Discover your life purpose and put the work into building a solid foundation for your future. Do it properly, and the rest becomes a piece of cake.
